Which size fits my door?
Pick a mat at least as wide as your door — wider looks built-in and catches every step.
- Apartment or storm door: 18" × 30" or 16" × 27"
- Standard single door (36"): 22" × 36" or 24" × 39"
- Wide door or sidelites: 24" × 48" or 30" × 48"
- Double doors (60–72"): 36" × 60" or 36" × 72"
- Patio, garage and runners: 24" × 60" or 24" × 72"
Sitting under a storm or screen door? Check the thickness guide below — most need the lower profile.

- Sizes: 14, from 14" x 24" to 48" x 72"

Choosing Your Thickness
Choosing Your Thickness
2" Thick: the deepest scrape and the longest life. Put it in front of the door, outside the door's swing: on a porch, a stoop or a garage step.
1" Thick: most of the scrape at half the height, and lighter to lift and shake out. The better choice close to a door.
Not sure? Measure the gap under your door at its lowest point. If the mat is taller than the gap, place it outside the swing.
Care & Cleaning
Care & Cleaning
Shake, brush or vacuum to refresh the fibers. No washing needed.
- Best under cover: a roofed porch, entryway or mudroom keeps coir working for years.
- A new mat drops loose fibers for the first few weeks. A few good shake-outs and it settles.
- If it gets soaked, stand it on edge and let it dry before putting it back down.

Common Questions
Common Questions
- What size doormat should I choose?
- Measure your doorway and pick a mat at least as wide as the door; a little wider looks built-in and catches more dirt. A 24 in x 36 in mat suits a standard single door, while larger sizes fit double doors, patios, and runners.
- Can I use this mat outside?
- It is ideal for covered and semi-covered spots like porches, awnings, and breezeways. Coir is natural coconut fiber, so it lasts longest when it is not sitting in standing water or taking a direct downpour.
- How do I clean and care for it?
- Shake it out or vacuum regularly, and spot-clean with a damp cloth. Let it dry flat and avoid soaking it, which keeps the natural fiber looking its best.
- Will it fit under my storm or screen door?
- Measure the gap under your fully open door and compare it to the mat thickness. Lower-profile mats are the safe pick for tight storm-door and screen-door clearances.
- When does it ship, and can I return it?
- Orders ship from our Pennsylvania warehouse within 1 business day, and the shipping cost shows at checkout. Returns on stock mats are free within 30 days. See our shipping and return policies for the details.
A thick, all-coir doormat that scrapes mud and grit off boots before they reach the floor. Choose 2" for the deepest scrape, or 1" when the mat sits close to a door. Both are packed coconut fiber on a traditional woven back, in sizes from a small step mat to a 4 x 6 ft entrance.
- 2" or 1" of coir: Two inches of stiff coconut fiber reaches into boot treads that a standard 1/2" mat only brushes over.
- Woven coir back: Keeps the mat flat and lets it breathe and dry between uses. There is no rubber underside, so it sits best in a mat recess or pushed against the threshold.
- 14 sizes: From 14" x 24" to 48" x 72". The 2" mat comes in 11 sizes and the 1" mat in 8.
- Heavy enough to stay put: A 3 x 5 ft mat weighs 18 to 24 lb and the 4 x 6 ft weighs 31 lb, so the mat lies where you set it.
- All natural fiber: Coir face and a woven coir back, with no rubber or vinyl. Coir is coconut husk fiber: renewable and biodegradable.
Where it works best
Coir holds water, so it lasts longest at a covered entry: under a porch roof, in a vestibule or in a mudroom. For an open step that takes the rain, choose our Water Trapper mat.
Care
Shake it out, sweep it or vacuum it. If it gets soaked, stand it on edge to dry before you put it back down. A new coir mat drops loose fibers for the first few weeks; a few good shake-outs and it settles.

Amazing doormat!!!!
Amazing doormat!!!!
Love these mats! I just bought a replacement for the one I had which was exposed to the desert elements for 4 years. Very durable and very well priced.
Seems to be of great quality but is much lighter weight than anticipated. We are very pleased with this product.
These Coco Coir doormats are wonderfully constructed! The 2 inch versions feel almost luxurious, something I never anticipated saying about a…coir doormat. They are fairly priced and the shipping fees reasonable given the product weight.
Nice mat! Thicker than any others I saw! Quick shipping!
Not cheap but quality mat that will last for years. You get what you pay for.
Perfect! Dense and sturdy. I will get more.
Really nice. Just wish it had a rubber or nonslip back to keep it in place on my concrete patio.
