Can I use this mat outside?
It is ideal for covered and semi-covered spots like porches, awnings, and breezeways. Coir is natural coconut fiber, so it lasts longest when it is not sitting in standing water or taking a direct downpour.
How do I clean and care for it?
Shake it out or vacuum regularly, and spot-clean with a damp cloth. Let it dry flat and avoid soaking it, which keeps the natural fiber looking its best.
Will it fit under my storm or screen door?
Measure the gap under your fully open door and compare it to the mat thickness. Lower-profile mats are the safe pick for tight storm-door and screen-door clearances.

Where it works best
Coir holds water, so it lasts longest at a covered entry: under a porch roof, in a vestibule or in a mudroom. For an open step that takes the rain, choose our Water Trapper mat.
Care
Shake it out, sweep it or vacuum it. If it gets soaked, stand it on edge to dry before you put it back down. A new coir mat drops loose fibers for the first few weeks; a few good shake-outs and it settles.
